Rangpur Seminar 2025

The Society of Nuclear Medicine Bangladesh (SNMB), in collaboration with the Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences, Rangpur (INMAS), successfully organized a day-long seminar titled “From Detection to Decision: Updates in Thyroid Disorder Management from Nuclear Medicine Perspective” on 20 September 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, INMAS, Rangpur.

The seminar was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Principal of Rangpur Medical College, as Chief Guest, and Brigadier General Ashiqur Rahman, Director of Rangpur Medical College & Hospital, as Special Guest. The session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Faria Nasreen, President of SNMB, who emphasized the growing importance of nuclear medicine in evidence-based thyroid disorder management.

The Scientific Session was the highlight of the seminar, featuring insightful and practice-oriented presentations. Dr. Sadia Afroz Choudhury shared valuable experiences of thyroid patients in Rangpur, highlighting regional challenges and patient outcomes. Prof. Dr. Zeenat Jabin presented an in-depth discussion on diagnostic workup and management strategies for thyroid nodules, integrating clinical findings with nuclear imaging modalities. Dr. Sadia Hossain elaborated on the diagnostic approach and management of thyrotoxicosis, focusing on appropriate use of radionuclide studies. Dr. Most. Afroza Naznin discussed the integration of TIRADS in nuclear medicine and the role of multimodality imaging in improving diagnostic accuracy.

The session concluded with remarks from Prof. Dr. Jasmine Ara Haque, Vice President of SNMB, who summarized the key scientific takeaways and encouraged continued academic collaboration.
